Spectacles Subsidy Scheme

​The WA Spectacle Subsidy Scheme assists with the purchase of a complete pair of prescribed spectacles or contact lenses by providing a subsidy to a maximum of $53.85 This assistance is available once every two years, subject to eligibility criteria.

How to Apply

Spectacle Subsidy claim forms are available at all Western Australia optometrist and optical dispensers.

Eligibility

The assistance is available to Western Australians receiving an Age (AGE), Disability (DSP), Wife Pension Age (WFA) Wife Pension Disability (WFD), or a Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Service Pension, WA Seniors Card holders, and children under 16 years of age listed on eligible concession cards. Applicants who are entitled to assistance from DVA as holders of Gold or White Treatment Cards (for accepted eyesight disability) are NOT eligible for the subsidy.
