Bond Assistance Loan Scheme

The Department of Housing offers bond assistance and two weeks' rent in advance as an interest-free loan to help people obtain accommodation in the private rental market. The maximum loan amount depends on your circumstances.

How to Apply

Complete an application form, available on the Department’s website, and return it to your nearest Department of Housing office with proof of income and identity.

Eligibility

People aged 16 or more who meet Bond Assistance Loan Scheme income limits and who do not have assets of more than $2,500 for single people and $5,000 for couples. Rent cannot be more than 60 per cent of your gross income. Full eligibility criteria is available in the Department of Housing website.
