The Secondary Assistance Scheme - ABSTUDY Supplement is available to parents or independent secondary students that receive ABSTUDY payments through the Commonwealth Aboriginal Secondary Grants Scheme. The payment is made to the school.

How to Apply

ABSTUDY Supplement Allowance forms are available at Western Australian public and private secondary schools. Parents need to provide proof of eligibility and a school officer needs to sign the form.


Available to parents of secondary students if the parent is a holder of a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card (Family). A student can apply only if they have been classified by Centrelink as an independent student and have documentation from Centrelink identifying them as living independently. Parents of students in receipt of ABSTUDY through Centrelink are eligible for the ABSTUDY Supplement Allowance. Applicants must not have previously received an allowance at another school in the same year.
