Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages - fee waiver

Eligible persons can have their fees waived for birth, change of name, death, and marriage certificates.  Additionally, persons who suffer domestic violence can apply for a fee waived change of name registration.

How to Apply

If you are in receipt of Legal Aid or receive assistance from Aboriginal Legal Services they will apply for fee waived certificates on your behalf. If you are seeking a change of name due to domestic violence you should contact the Registry of Births, Deaths or Marriages by phone on 1300 305 021 to have your eligibility assessed. The Registry office is located at Level 10, Westralia Square, 141 St Georges Terrace, Perth.

Eligibility

Persons in receipt of Legal Aid, and Aboriginal people who receive assistance from Aboriginal Legal Services and people who are wanting to change their names because of domestic violence and who can demonstrate financial hardship.
